I Fell in Love With a Small Town…
Most of us didn’t choose our hometown.
But we fell in love with it anyway.
The streets we walked as kids.
The places where we first felt seen.
The people who shaped us.
And sometimes that love becomes complicated.
We grow.
We leave.
The place changes — or we do.
Yet something about home continues to call us back.
In a moment when many of us are carrying grief, uncertainty, or distance from the places we once called home, this gathering is an invitation to sit together in that tension.
Through music and storytelling, we’ll explore:
- why we stay
- why we leave
- why we still care
The evening will feature music and reflections from MORGXN, joined by special guest storytellers:
Ruby Amanfu
Grammy-nominated singer and songwriter whose work explores identity, belonging, and the emotional landscapes of home.
Dr. G. Preston Wilson Jr.
Director of the legendary Fisk Jubilee Singers, carrying forward one of the most powerful musical traditions in American history.
Olivia Hill
Nashville Metro Council Member and the first openly transgender elected official in Tennessee, whose life and leadership reflect the courage it takes to belong.
This isn’t a performance night.
It’s a listening room.
A shared breath.
A moment of belonging.
