New Member Hangout at Joyland

Joyland was imagined by Chef Sean Brock, whose career has helped define Southern food for a generation—from award-winning fine dining to deeply personal, memory-driven cooking. A James Beard Award winner and featured voice on Mind of a Chef, Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations, and Chef’s Table, Brock created Joyland as a love letter to the fast-food restaurants of his childhood.

But Joyland isn’t about shortcuts.
It’s about taking familiar flavors and treating them with uncommon care—sourcing the best ingredients, refining small details, and testing techniques again and again until simple food becomes something quietly special. Nostalgia, done with intention. Comfort, elevated by craft.

That spirit is why we’re gathering here.

For this informal new member hangout, TEDxNashville is bringing people together around the table at Joyland for a relaxed family style diner. Just good food, thoughtful company, and the beginning of real connection.

This isn’t a talk.
It’s not networking.
It’s how community starts.
