TEDx Mixtape – Every Story Has A Song

Every Story Has a Song: A Live Experiment from the Come Together Music Project

Presented by:

TEDxNashville × The Come Together Music Project

Date & Time:

Tuesday, January 7
6:30–8:30 PM (Doors at 6:00)
Analog at the Hutton Hotel

Can music bridge the distance between two very different lives?

In this live experiment, Come Together Music Project founder Shaka Mitchell invites GRAMMY nominated artist, Devon Gilfillian, and Nashville mayor Freddie O’Connell to answer a series of personal questions — where every answer must be a song.

As the conversation unfolds, we’ll hear the music, the stories behind it, and the surprising overlaps that emerge along the way. What begins as two distinct playlists slowly becomes a shared soundtrack — revealing how music can connect us across difference, identity, and experience.

This is more than a talk. It’s part listening party, part social experiment, part TED-style exploration of what unites us when words fall short.

And because this is TEDxNashville, the audience plays a role too.
Attendees will receive a prompt to submit their own “song answers” before the event — a few will be featured live, woven into the evening’s dialogue.
